"If it hurts when you run…
Don't run!"

That approach just doesn't work anymore!!

What Coaches
Are Saying
As head cross country coach of an accomplished collegiate running program for nearly forty years, I have run into my share of injuries. I consider Concorde Therapy, and especially Mark Mottice, to be experts on the complicated mechanics of running, in anything from diagnosing potential injuries to the treatment of seemingly chronic problems. Mark’s therapeutic point of view is extremely helpful in prescribing treatment of problems that would have otherwise placed my athletes out of competition. My athletes have reached the competitive level they are at because of their ability to push themselves to great lengths; the professional treatment and expert advice from Mark is crucial in each athlete’s evasion of injury and pursuit of his or her goals.

The East Canton Cross Country program has worked with Concorde Therapy Group since 1982. Concorde has been instrumental in the success of our program throughout the years. East Canton has been one of the best small school programs in the State of Ohio (one State Title, three State Runner-Up finishes, six Regional Titles, and numerous District and League Championships) due in large part to staying injury free. With a small school program that typically teams only 8-12 runners a year, injuries could be highly detrimental to our success. By preventing injuries before they happen, we feel ahead of the game. Concorde, with their expertise, has assisted our athletes on the team by endorsing the right type of training shoes to buy for each individual athlete, performing Gait Analysis and also recommending flexibility exercises to do in order to prevent other injuries. Working directly with Second Sole, Concorde has demonstrated their knowledge with our runners.

Typically the athletes buy shoes based on popularity, color, and price (the most expensive are probably the best, right?). We learned that to prevent injuries, the athlete must be paired with the right shoe to fit their needs. Our union with Concorde has been one of excellence. They are the best!

Our team noticed a dramatic reduction in the number of running related injuries this past season. This was a direct result of our participation in the Runners’ Screening Program offered by Mark Mottice and his professional staff. They took the time to work individually with each runner to ensure that everyone got the proper type of shoes for their individual needs. In addition, the runners’ parents were thrilled with how flexible and convenient Mark made the entire process. We certainly will take advantage of this service for years to come!
